A fun selection of breeds that will be coop ready end of May to mid-June when they reach 12 weeks old!
Bielefelders are large beautiful birds and extremely docile. They love to forage but also do well in confinement and are winter hardy. They lay an average of 225-275 large brown eggs a year, or 4-5 a week.
Brahmas are an extra large breed feathered head to toe and dubbed the “king of chickens”. They're super friendly and often become a flock favorite. They require a nice shady spot to help cool them in the summer, but extremely cold hardy and will continue to lay through winter when other breeds have stopped. They lay a medium size cream or brown egg and are expected to lay an average of 150 a year or 2-3 a week.

The Dixie Rainbow is heat and cold tolerant and a heavy breed that can reach up to 7 pounds! Their colorful plumage varies, no two are alike. These friendly and social birds make great pets and do well in confinement, but like to free range too. They're excellent layers of medium sized brown eggs. Expect an average of 275 a year or 5-6 a week.
The Salmon Faverolle has all the features... a beard, muff, feathered legs and feet, and fifth toe. They're shy and docile, but super cuddly and friendly. They're excellent winter layers of medium to large light brown eggs, some with a pinkish hue. Expect an average of 175-200 a year or 3-4 a week.
The Jersey Giant is a docile large-framed bird that lays extra large eggs that can range in color from light cream to brown. They tolerate the cold very well, but require extra shade to keep them cool during the hotter months of the year. They do well in a backyard setting, but are also good foragers. Due to their larger size, Jersey Giants may take up to 9 months before they lay their first egg. Expect an average of 175 eggs per year or 3-4 a week.

Legbars are friendly and calm birds that do well in confinement or free range setting. They have a fancy tuft of feathers behind the comb. They're great producers of light blue eggs. Expect 150-200 per year or 2-4 a week.
The Prairie Bluebell Egger is a cross of Araucana and White Leghorn, come in a variety of feather patterns and are layers of blue eggs. They are cold and heat hardy, very active and great foragers. They lay an average of 250 medium blue eggs a year or 4-5 a week.

Easter Eggers come in an array of colors and their personalities vary as much as their plumage. Super hardy layers that will lay either blue, green, or brown eggs. Expect an average of 250 per year, or 4-5 a week.
Polish are sweet and very silly birds. They feature a large bouffant crest and v-shape comb. Expect about 100 small to medium size white eggs per year or 2 a week.
