Our chicken adventure began in 2015 with four day-old chicks we purchased from the local feed store. We instantly fell in love with their antics and individual personalities. Our flock quickly grew to a dozen-ish or so, and that's when we decided it was time to leave the suburbs and look for enough land to support our chicken habit. After searching near and far, we finally found our home tucked into the foothills, then shortly after became The Cockeyed Coop.
We understand the work, the mess, and the occasional heartbreak associated with raising your own hens to discover your beloved 'she' is a 'he', or having an unexpected loss due to illness, deficiency, or weakness. We can relieve you of these duties and inconveniences.
We get our chicks off to a healthy start by providing premium feed and quality care. Our birds are acclimated to freezing temps and will not require supplemental heat. The young birds socialize with our older birds to learn chicken etiquette early on to best prepare them for a successful integration into an established flock.
Every bird that leaves our coop is guaranteed to be correctly sexed, happy, healthy, and thriving.
